The Governor of Quintana Roo, Lic. Félix Arturo González Canto, declared that during the next three years plans for the Island of Cozumel will concentrate chiefly, in converting the City of San Miguel, into a first class metropolis, due to that the "Island of the Swallows", is a municipality that lives on tourism.
The State Executive, claimed that is very important for all, that the foreign and Mexican tourists, have a good impression, of this spa of the Mexican Caribbean, and that because it is indispensable, to build works of highway administration and to achieve an urban image, that cause the tourist leave satisfied, and to subsequently return again and again.
He indicated the importance that our island, and city have quality of places or first world class as for the faces that we give the vacationer that visits us.
He said that, during the second half of his six-year period, his efforts will be dedicated to changing the presentation of this tropical island as the World’s first place in arrivals of cruisers. The third governor Cozumeleño, emphasized the importance that the city be elegant, pretty, with first class urbanity, with public utilities to the height of their tourist level so that the tourists like to walk through our places, where they can find their entertainment and needs, so much in products as in services.
