70% occupancy Resorts in Cozumel!

Hotel occupation is maintained at 70 percent levels, which represents a good percentage in this vacation season, which is presumed will remain equal to the end of this period in fifteen days.

Isauro Cruz Lara, manager of the Association of Hotels and Motels of Cozumel, brought to light that the current situation is good, since the hotel occupation has been maintained in an average of 70 percent during the last weeks, generating incomes for the different hotels in said association.

Nevertheless, he emphasized that in spite of the fact that some of the hotels of the downtown have a smaller occupation, this itself due unfortunately to their failure doing a better publicity, at the same time in which indicated they expect that said percentage of occupation, remain until finalizing the season.

Cruz Lara detailed that by good fortune the percentage of occupation, though is similar to that of other years, and has generated more incomes because hotels have increased their number of rooms.

As for what to expect for the following dates as for occupation, Isauro Cruz Lara said that is very difficult to reach greater than 75 percent of occupation, since other destinies exist where the tourists respond, for which it is very probable that they not reach 80 percent of occupation, although the current figures have benefited the sector a lot.

Nevertheless, he added that after August 15, the situation will begin to be different with the exodus of vacationers, which will begin to have the annual low season than is from the middle of August, until the middle of December; months during which the hotels and in general the different tourist sectors are affected by an economic crisis because of the arrival of very few tourists
