Mexico 2nd home conference
U.S. real estate industry targets the huge global 2nd homes and resorts market
August 18, 2008, Los Angeles, CA-The U.S. real estate market has gone so bad, no "Extreme Makeover" can help save ABC's home improvement reality show's largest project from foreclosure. While foreclosures haunt American homeowners everyday alongside a desperate mortgage industry as symbolized by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac reaching out for aid, the U.S. real estate and mortgage industry needs something to pick itself up on.
One event is doing just that. The American International Real Estate Expo and Conference which will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on September 5-7 2008 is hosting over 10,000 attendees from over 30 countries around the world to bring foreign investors and real estate developments to the U.S.
American homebuyers, especially the growing number of baby boomers, are presented with affordable local and international real estate investment opportunities. The U.S. alone has about 78.2 million baby boomers (Source: U.S. Census Bureau, 2005) that are looking to retire actively. "Our message to American baby boomers is that they can still retire luxuriously at prices they can afford in other countries that are now at par with U.S. standards," says Susan Barlin, CEO of ECPI. "An 18-year travel boom has already begun which, through AIREEC, can benefit the economies of our participating countries."
Barlin also discussed her economic recovery plan for the U.S. "Real Estate is a strong backbone for any economy. Unfortunately, sales and activities can not just be derived within the country and thus, we have to do a massive campaign to create activity from foreign buyers. Other countries are doing the same, attracting foreign buyers into their countries as second home buyers or retirees, we can be as attractive to this global movement of international buyers if we put our acts together"
"Through international real estate expos like AIREEC, we can attract and bring in foreign buyers and investors to buy U.S. properties. In effect, there will be motion in real estate sales in stagnant times like today. With what AIREEC can bring to the table, the U.S. real estate market will be back on track in no time."
Supported by big industry players like the American Resort Developers Association, Design Building Institute, World Trade Center, Los Angeles Economic Development Council, American Samoan Government, National Association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors amongst others, foreign dignitaries and delegations are also expected to arrive to support the event.
After its huge success in Manila, Philippines with its Asian version of AIREEC in December 2007, event organizer Expo and Convention Promotions, Inc. (ECPI) decided to bring into the US. the opportunity by creating a platform where all players like architectural firms, resort development, tourism, redevelopment agencies, senior housing, real estate associations and other industries evolving around real estate (300 industries) could get together to make a big wave in its' role and position to this fast growing trend of global 2nd home market.
"Everybody wins at AIREEC, both local and foreign participants, there will be a lot of inbound/outbound transactions" continues Susan Barlin. "Just be there when it happens, it is surely going to be an eye opener for everyone....and don't forget to check out the INVESTORS ROOM at AIREEC!" she exclaims.
